This is the story of a knight from Spain’s Golden Age, journeying through his time accompanied by virtues, loves, and betrayals. An infinite span of more than 100 years – an eternal knight who remains alive in the essence of every human

Hannah Erxleben plays Willem Jeths Recorder concerto. The piece was commission by Erik Bosgraaf and written in 2014. The concert that deals with two contrasting sides of childhood: purity and trauma. The recorders pure sound represents a lonely child and is embedded in a special orchestration including crystal glasses and water gongs.

At the close of the 16th century, Florentine artists and intellectuals, captivated by ancient Greek tragedy, explored in a new light the powerful relationship between music and emotion. A fresh musical and poetic language was then born. Soon, this invention conquered the courts and theaters of Italy and, later, of the whole continent. A story about the birth of the opera.
